"The Vengeful Wrath" is a heavily customized Overlord Class Battle Cruiser and is part of the dreaded "League of Black Ships". The great fleet of Black Ships belongs to the Adeptus Astra Telepathica of the Imperium of Man. Independent of the Navy, they are the second largest fleet in the galaxy.
"The Vengeful Wrath" is a streamlined vessel with a totally black color scheme that doesn't do justice on its multitude of ornaments and embellishments. A giant, golden symbol of the Inquisition adorns it’s prow, topped by onyx statues of skull-faced angels. On top of the bridge sits a massive statue, entirely made of Cassiterite, of a winged skeleton in a shroud holding a sword of justice.
"The Vengeful Wrath" is, like many Black Ships, tasked with the collection of unsanctioned Psykers from the multitude of worlds in the Calixis sector, while visiting planets, it also collects Tithes.
The ship belongs to the Adeptus Astra Telepathica and is administrated by the Inquisition. Several Inquisitors (and their acolytes) use the ship as a base of operations, Vindixus, Boniface and Raphael being the chief among them as this gives them a good opportunity to investigate a planet's potential for psychically-based corruption.

A Black Ship is a dreadful environment for psykers. Psychically-sensitive crew spend most of their time in the shielded upper decks of the main bridge, as far removed from the containment holds as possible so as to avoid the unpleasant effects of the anti-psychic security measures in place. There are numerous devices and routines directed at the great holds to confuse and confound psychic abilities. Each ship has a troop of specially-trained Adepts whose sole function is to focus their own psychic energies into an Occluding Sphere –- this strange metaphysical device broadcasts an invasive signal into the mind of any nearby psyker, severely disrupting their ability to concentrate or reason and therefore largely curtailing their ability to utilise their talents. In addition to this, oppressively loud and discordant noise is pumped into the holds to disrupt any attempts at concentration or rest. The holds are dimly illuminated for the most part but frequent bursts of strobing light shatter the twilight. Food and drink for the captives is laced with sedatives. The captive population is regularly moved from one hold to another. All of this serves to keep the psykers in a helpless, confused and compliant state. The most dangerous psykers (as identified by Inquisitorial scrutiny) are kept in separate isolation cells deep within the bowels of the containment holds.
The ship, like all Overlord Class Battle Cruisers, is huge. It has a massive length of 5.3 km and is 0.85 km abeam. Its mass totals more than 31 megatons and is crewed by over 100000 souls. This giant is propelled by a Jovian Pattern Class 4 Drive and has a Strelov II Warp Engine. It is protected by a Multiple Void Shield Array and has an Armored Command Bridge that can count on receiving accurate data from the -M-201.b Auger Array. Furthermore, to accommodate all the crew, it has standard voidsman crew quarters and a vitae pattern life sustainer
Lances are Imperial directed energy weapons of extreme power. A Lance battery is, in essence, a gargantuan Lasgun, usually mounted in a large and heavily armoured turret. Thanks to the available energy from the ship's Plasma Reactor, a Lance can fire prolonged bursts instead of the short "shots" of man-portable las-weapons. Often, a bright shaft of coherent light connects the weapon to its target, hence the name "Lance". Lances use triple or even quad-arranged energy projectors to focus their energy into a concentrated beam, capable of burning through even the most heavily armoured hulls and cutting smaller vessels in half. Lance batteries can be used to either apply sustained firepower to one precise location of a target, or, by slightly moving the projector, "rake" across its target. Multiple batteries often combine these two firing modes, in the hope of overwhelming their target's Void Shields and inflicting massive damage.

A Macrocannon is the largest member of the family of Auto Weapons and it has been used since the time of the Great Crusade. These massive ballistic weapons are deployed in batteries, and destroy their targets through the delivery of powerful broadsides of shells fired in volley to overwhelm their enemy in a barrage of destruction. Macrocannons are giant, edifice-size weapons covered with gantries, cranes, power lines and pipes manned by a crew that stands hundreds strong. Many starship captains still prefer the reliability of Macrocannons despite the medieval toil they inflict on the crew of their warship. They are far more robust than energy weapons like Lances. After it suffers punishing damage, a Macrocannon can still load and fire long after an energy weapon's delicate mechanism would fall silent.

Although its main function is transporting Psykers back to Terra, it is heavily armed as well. It features on Port & Starboard side Mass Pattern Macro-cannons, has a Titanforge Lance Battery on the prow and dorsal mounted Strygies Pattern Bombardement cannons. To accommodate the supporting vessels and vehicles it carries, it has two Lathe Pattern Landing bays.
